Electric Bike Repair
Yep, we do that.
We’re here to keep your e-bike rolling…
Most shops won't touch an e-bike they didn't sell. We will. At Sixth City Cycles, we service everything from budget Amazon imports, through direct-to-consumer brands like Aventon, Rad Power, and Lectric and even all the way up to Specialized, Trek, Gazelle and the like. Our techs are comfortable with all kinds of motor systems, batteries, and drivetrains, so whatever's going on with your ride, we can dig into it. Whatever the brand, whatever the problem, bring it in and we'll get you back on the road.
All e-bike service requires a $30 non-refundable deposit that will be applied to your final bill
For ALL electrical issues, bring your battery, keys and charger!
Be prepared to leave your bike with us — even for flat tires
IMPORTANT INFO
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What services do you offer?
1
We can handle all traditional repairs including tune‑ups from basic to complete overhauls; quick flat and tire fixes; brake adjustments and pad replacement; drivetrain cleaning and replacement including chains, cassettes, and derailleurs; wheel truing and spoke replacement; plus installation and adjustment of shifters, derailleurs, brakes, handlebars, stems, and saddles. Suspension and fork/air‑spring servicing available.
Additionally we provide electrical diagnosis and repair: wiring, battery and motor troubleshooting, and electrical component integration. Our mechanics are trained to perform both mechanical and electrical work so your bike receives comprehensive service.
Do you work on ______ brand/model?
2
We'll try to work on any e-bike and most personal electric vehicles in general. If it fits through the door, we'll give it a shot.
Can you provide a quote
for the cost of repair?
3
Due to the nature of e-bike repairs, it's nearly impossible to quote work without seeing the bike first. The $30 deposit covers our diagnostic time and allows us to put together a proper repair plan before any work begins.
Can you remove the speed limit on my e-bike?
4
We don't make or recommend any software modifications not originally made by the manufacturer. The components on your bike are engineered to operate within specific parameters and pushing beyond those limits will cause premature failure of motor, battery, and drivetrain parts. We want your bike to last, so this one's a hard no.
Do you sell/repair batteries?
5
We don't sell batteries directly, but we can help source a replacement if yours needs to be swapped out. We're also happy to diagnose electrical issues. However, we don't perform cell-level or BMS repairs, and we won't work on any battery that has physical damage.
Can you install an electric
kit on my normal bike?
6
Honestly, we don't generally recommend these kits. They're difficult to install correctly and often require additional parts and troubleshooting to function reliably. That said, if you've already purchased a kit and need a hand, we're happy to help at our standard labor rate.
